2019 christmas card

And this extra one because....Ellie

Taking these pictures is such a bittersweet thing for me. I love to see how big you two are getting, but it makes a little sad to also see HOW big you two are getting. You are my world.

shelby

As if we didn't have enough things on our plates, we got a dog! I have NO IDEA what we were thinking when we all agreed this was the best choice for us, but seeing the joy you get every day when you come home to her makes it worth it (almost).

I can't believe how good you're getting baby!

I'm so excited to see what you guys get into this year.
Good luck babies, I know you will do great!!!

words from ms. berkeley (reading, 5th)

Dear Isabella,

I’m so glad I got the chance to be your teacher this year. As a fellow book lover, it makes me happy to know that you will carry on the torch of reading. With books, you are never alone (or bored!).

It is a great responsibility to be intelligent, introspective, thoughtful, and judicious—all traits that you possess. Own them. People will try to make being lazy or uninspired look cool. Spoiler alert: they will fail. You, however, will go far in life. Your successes will be because of your hard work and you should be exceptionally proud of that.

This year, I watched you read your books and do your classwork, like any run-of-the-mill reading teacher would do. I also watched you rise above the chaos and drama of your class. I watched you remain reasonable and patient despite situations that would inspired opposite emotions in your teammates. I have loved watching you grow and mature and find a place wherein you, Isabella, can flourish. I trust that you will continue to do that, too. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, if only for a year. Every time I open up a book, I will think of you!

With love,

Ms. Berkeley

Thank you for my masterpieces, baby! I'm notorious for throwing things away when I get into one of my cleaning moods. But, I always want to remember these little treasures you make for me. I love how excited you get when you're taking these out of your backpack to show me.

These are a few of my favorites

You made this one back in Pre-K 3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY!!!

I can't believe you're eleven. Where is the time going!? Ten was tough. This past year has tested you. You've been challenged....and you're pushed through. Middle school has been a challenge to get used to, but it will get better. You're amazing, and I can't wait to see what this new year brings for you. Know that whatever that may be, you have me (and a ton of other people) ready and willing to go to bat for you.
