memorial day 2018

I'm so glad to see you guys enjoy doing things for others. Today, we went with the Mess to lay flags at the VA cemetery. I hope that we keep these small traditions to help others.
Also, I hope you cherish these small moments, like the Mess singing to you. It's embarrassing now, but it's pretty special.

birthday celebrations

TEN! Ten is HUGE! Ten is scary. But...here we are. Your end of year trip landed the weekend before your birthday, so I volunteered to chaperone pretty early in the year. I bugged and bugged...and I was able to go. We went to San Antonio to see the Natural Bridge Caverns and to Fiesta Texas. It was the longest 2 days EVER. But, I'm so glad I got to spend time with you and to see you interact with your friends. It's been great seeing you come out of your shell this year.

After the caverns, we had dinner at Fuddrucker's....I couldn't pass up an opportunity to celebrate (and embarass) you.
The next day we had breakfast at the hotel and headed to Six Flags Fiesta Texas

The next day we went to your Abuelita Lucy's house for Loteria and you got another small celebration.

I hope you had a great one. We love you. Forever

Oops! Almost forgot....you finally got the crawfish you'd been asking for all month

Theeeennnn....the weekend after THAT (this is already too much, isn't it?) you had some friends over for a slumber party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY!
I can't believe you're in the double digits. This is CRAZY!

soccer

We made it through our first season of 2 activities! It was pretty hectic at time, running from one activity to the next, but you did it kiddo! This season, you kept asking us to let you play "baseball" but would bring us the soccer ball, so we decided to sign you up to see how well you'd do.

It was a challenging thing, to say the least. This is the first activity you've truly done on your own, and as brave and as outgoing as you are sometimes...other times you are just our little baby that still needs us.

The season started off kind of rough, you were scared to participate because you didn't know anyone, but you pushed through and by the end you were doing great. This is the first of many activities we still have ahead of us. Like always, we'll be behind you pushing you to try your best. We love you!

concert at the zoo

This Mother's Day weekend was super busy! We started off with piano practice, as usual. Afterwards, we went for breakfast and then headed to the zoo, where you performed with your choir. You'd been really nervous all week leading up to this, you had a big solo to do. As usual, you did phenomenal. We're so proud of you! You sang "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from the Lion King.

After a quick wardrobe change it was time for your piano recital. You performed "San Francisco Trolley" and "Rhino in the Mud"

astros game

Another season....another chance to watch a game. Ellie, this was your first Astros game and you had a BLAST!
